Complete at last

There are a couple of finishing touches still to be added, and a little DIY to be done, but Muddy Waters is now basically complete. She's back on the water, and just about fit to take out cruising this weekend - yay!

Question is....will she be back on the water tomorrow? Boat yard guys still say "yes", but there's a lot of work still to be done. Time shall tell!

Oh yes, and I don't know quite what posessed them to paint the cleat on the front in spectacular postbox red, but it isn't staying that colour. It will soon be in keeping with the rest of the colour scheme ;)

So much for this morning's post entitled "getting there now". I popped to the boat yard at lunch time to check on progress, and my new paint has been damaged. It was covered with a plastic sheet before it was 100% dry (to shield it from overspray), and the sheet stuck to it in places, ruining the finish.

This *may* not be a bad thing, as the guys working on it said that they may decide to coat it with lacquer to resolve the issue. Alternatively, they will have to apply another coat of paint. Either way, I figure another protective coat on my boat is good really - may mean it takes a few days longer to finish though, time shall tell.
